- Crowns
-
Crowns, often called as caps, are used in repairing and replacing broken teeth. Crowns are generally used to restore the
look of worn teeth. The following are the three different materials used in preparing crowns:
-
Zirconia - Zirconia is a unique system for manufacturing aesthetic and functionally good dental
crowns. It utilizes CAD and
CAM technologies that provide unmatched strength and aesthetics while
optimizing the fit.
-
All ceramic - Porcelain crowns are normally fixed in the place of front teeth where they are most visible. Since, they do not have metal bases,
all-porcelain crowns have a translucent quality and makes them
impossible to differentiate from original teeth.
- PFM - Porcelain fused to metal. PFM crowns are used in the place of molars and in
areas that require additional strength for biting. Natural-looking porcelain is
bonded to a metal base and the crown is made.
